PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk's Subsidiaries Have Successfully Obtained US Court Orders

The Board of Directors of PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk (the "Company") (SGX: PTBL.SI and IDX: BLTA.JK) announced on 13th March 2012, that certain of its subsidiaries had obtained orders from the Singapore High Court, pursuant to section 210(10) of the Companies Act, protecting their assets from the risk of enforcement action by its creditors ("the Orders").

The Board now wishes to announce that certain of the subsidiaries who obtained the Orders have applied for and today obtained interim orders from the Courts in New York, under Chapter 15 of the United States Bankruptcy Code ("Chapter 15"), prohibiting the arrest of their vessels in the United States, amongst other things ("the US Orders"). A further hearing of the application will take place on 23rd March 2012.

The effect of the US Orders is to halt legal proceedings in the USA against the subsidiaries that made the applications. This will enable the vessels owned by those subsidiaries to ply safely through ports in the USA, without the threat of arrest.
