We are thrilled to announce that on September 19, 2024, subsidiary of PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk (BLTA) successfully took over a pressurized 5,000 CBM LPG carrier in Batangas, Philippines, now proudly renamed Gas Lombok. This acquisition marks another significant milestone in BLTA’s mission to strengthen our presence in the LPG and petrochemical gas markets.
Continuing BLTA’s tradition of naming gas tankers after Indonesia’s iconic islands, Gas Lombok joins her sister vessels, Gas Kalimantan and Gas Indonesia II. Lombok, one of the two largest islands in Nusa Tenggara Barat, represents BLT’s commitment to linking Indonesia’s diverse regions with global energy markets.
The addition of Gas Lombok to BLTA Group’s fleet brings enhanced capacity to transport around 2,500 MT of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), a crucial energy source for industries, hotels, restaurants, and households across Indonesia, which consumes approximately 7 million MT of LPG annually. Additionally, this versatile vessel can also transport liquefied petrochemical gases such as propylene, crude butane, butadiene, and raffinate, expanding BLTA’s capabilities to meet growing market demands.
This acquisition reinforces BLTA’s position as a significant player in the LPG and petrochemical gas sectors, ensuring we continue to provide reliable, efficient, and environmentally conscious shipping solutions for our valued customers.
